Judge Vickie Gipson has missed more than half of the courtroom workdays since being elected in 2018, MORE THAN HALF! You the taxpayers of Anne Arundel County are her employer, her boss, and Vickie Gipson deserves to be FIRED!
Never a hard worker before the pandemic, Vickie Gipson took full advantage and used Covid as an excuse to miss FIFTEEN MONTHS of work, including two months missed (she says) to find a vaccine that was readily available throughout the county.
Understand that the Anne Arundel Courty Orphans’ Court is deemed essential and worked its regular “in person” schedule throughout all of the pandemic. There was no remote working, Vickie Gipson “just refused to come in.” During the whole fifteen months she cheated the taxpayers of Anne Arundel County by drawing a full salary while refusing to work, and ignoring her obligations to individuals before the court.
Well some might say, it was covid, the lockdown, you know… Ok let’s look at her performance since then.
Since “returning to work” Judge Vickie Gipson has missed about 40% of the court’s workdays, including three full weeks in May and June. The reason? Not sure, always vague – doctors’ appointments, “procedures”, important meetings, most of which the rest of us seem to accomplish on our days off. In addition, on the days she does show she often comes in late or leaves early. (We are working to get a copy of Judge Gipson’s official attendance and will post it here as soon as it is available.)
Judge Vickie Gipson has cheated the citizens of Anne Arundel County who have had to suffer her repeated absences despite paying her full salary. Court matters take long enough without a slacker in a position of responsibility, and it is not fair that others were forced to pick up the slack. It is also not fair to the voters who Vickie Gipson promised good performance, nor to the individuals with matters before the court.
